SP COTE – 104(M) (ALUMINUM PASTE - SPIRIT BASE COATING)

SP Cote -104 (M) is mainly manufactured for the Shell Core casting process in Ferrous & non ferrous foundries. It is used as a refractory coating containing Aluminum Paste as a main ingredient. Spirit acts as a carrier in this product.

SP Cote 104(M) is a Refractory coating recommended for all type of Aluminum Castings. This coating Cores & Moulds . SP cote -104(M) is a RFU coating having an excellent suspension properties. So it can be easily applied on the substrate . It gives good refractory properties . Due to the Aluminum paste contains after molten metal pouring in the mould ; a carbon gas film forms between the metal & mould . This film of carbon gas saves the sand inclusion to the casting . Also it gives the good surface finish to the casting.

SP Cote – 11 (M) can be applied on the substrate by Brushing, Dipping & Spraying. After this application ignite the surface immediately because ignition after long time wet patches on the surface will be observed. For brushing application SP Cote use as it is or dilute it with SP Thinner by 5% to the material. For Dipping & Spraying application dilute the SP Cote – 11 (M) by 10% with SP Thinner & then use for application. The dilution is depends on the type of the substrate on which the coating is to be applied. If the Atmospheric Humidity is more than 70% the dry substrate & then apply the coating . again dry the coated substrate if required for better results.

  • Specific Gravity :- 0.95 to 1.00 @27 ±3 °C
  • Viscosity by B4 cup :- 13 to 20 sec @ 27±3 °C
  • Coating by brushing :- No Peel Off / No Cracks / No blisters
