SP FLUX-AB16 (FLUX FOR ALUMINIUM COPPER BASED ALLOYS)

SP FLUX-AB16 (FLUX FOR ALUMINIUM COPPER BASED ALLOYS)

The melting of Copper and Copper-based Alloys is an critical process. Molten Copper dissolves both Oxygen and Hydrogen. On Solidification Oxygen and Hydrogen can combine to form water vapour which causes porosity In the casting. Without the presence of Oxygen, Hydrogen alone may also calls gas porosity. Alloys containing alluminium forms oxide skin which can cause problems in castings.

The Copper and Copper alloys containing aluminium oxidizen during melting, forming a skin of oxide which results in sluggish pouring. Sp flux-Ab 16 is recommended to eliminate sluggish pouring. SP FLUX-AB 16 flux range contains chemicals that dissolve alumina, removing it from the melt by floatation. The surface layer formed is a liquid slag, from an efficiency aspect, a liquid slag performs best,SP FLUX-AB 16 forms liquid slag for efficient ness.

Pre-heat the crucible or furnace. Charge ingots and scrap and commence melting.

When part of the charge becomes pasty, sprinkle SP FLUX-AB 16 flux (1kg for 100 kg of metal) over the surface. Continue cahrging and melt under the protective cover of SP FLUX-Ab 16 as rapidly as possible. When the metal is at pouring tempreture, add a further quantity of SP FLUX-Ab 16 flux (0.5kg for 100kg of metal)and with a perforated saucer plunger plung the flux ti the bottom of the melt then with a rotary movement of plunger," wash" the flux in bringing it into intimate contact with all parts of the melt in order to cleanse it of alumina particles. After 2-3 minutes withdraw the plunger and allow the melt to settle. Deoxidize by plunging " E" type deoxidizing tube to collect suspended non-metallic impurities and increase the fluidity.

50 Kg Arkalline Bag With Poly Liner.

FLUX IS HYGROSCOPIC IN NATURE SO STORE IT IN A VERY DRY ATMOSPHERE.
